Tami Richter
Vice President of Event Operations
South By Southwest (SXSW)
Tami is a seasoned professional in event logistics and operations, currently serving as Vice President of Event Operations for SXSW, LLC. With extensive experience in event management, she oversees a wide range of operations for one of the world’s largest and most renowned events, including volunteer programs, event staffing, transportation, catering, accessibility, security, safety and emergency response planning, and on-site event control center management.
A strong advocate for safety, Tami ensures health and safety are at the forefront of all stages of event planning and execution. She works closely with public safety agencies, provides training for staff, and champions a culture of safety. Tami is also a dedicated member of the Event Safety Alliance Board and the Entertainment Services and Technology Association, contributing to the development of event safety standards through the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
With certifications from the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration (CVA), FEMA, OSHA, and various health safety programs, Tami is committed to advancing industry standards and developing future event professionals. She is currently attending Arizona State University pursuing an MA in Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
Outside of work, Tami enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and spending time with her husband and four children. She has recently relocated to South Dakota, after her husband's retirement from the US Army.
Jann Baskett
Former Co-President and Chief Brand Officer
South By Southwest (SXSW)
Currently serving in an advisory and board role, Jann Baskett is the former Co-President and Chief Brand Officer of South By Southwest (SXSW) Conference and Festivals. She was the company's first woman co-president, and in her role for nearly nine years as the Chief Brand Officer, she was the lead steward of the SXSW brand. She oversaw the Brand group, made up of the Communications, Marketing, and Content departments, whose responsibilities include brand strategy, messaging, public relations, digital marketing, experience design, and all content creation (video, photography, and web and social content).
Before joining the SXSW leadership team in 2016, Jann was founder and principal of the Austin brand and strategy agency Foxtrot, notably designing the SXSW brand identity and its annual look-and-feel since 2008. Previously, Jann was a partner at Milkshake Media, a creative agency also based in Austin; and before that, she was marketing director at Texas Monthly magazine.
Prior, she lived in New York and worked in promotion and creative services for Details Magazine, Mademoiselle Magazine, and for several of The New York Times Magazine Group’s special interest publications.
In Austin, she has served on several boards, including the Austin Film Society (as president), The Texas Tribune, and the Austin Public Library Foundation.
Barbara Glaser Fryer

Barbara started her career at Freeman AV as an intern studying Radio, TV, and Film at the University of Texas at Austin. She went on to become a Director of Audio Visual at various hotel/convention center properties, as an Account Executive, Director of Sales of Texas State Accounts, Senior Client Relationship Manager. and her current role as Client Relationship Director.
Active in many industry organizations, Barbara received the MPI Supplier of the Year Award and the TSAE Affiliate of the Year Award. Barbara currently resides in Austin and facilitates some local events (SXSW, TCEQ, TDA) as well as national events (Assn for Financial Professionals, Obesity Week) that travel around the country. Barbara’s first SXSW event was 1990.
Meet the Moderator
Gary Cornelius
VP of Business Development
Gary is the VP of Business Development of TCW, Inc., leading their Sales, Marketing, and customer-facing teams. He has 37 years of experience in transportation and logistics, including leadership roles in both Sales & Operations. Gary has been with TCW for 18 years, with his current tenure starting in 2013.
Gary serves as the co-Chair of TMSA’s Education Committee and is on the TMSA Board of Directors. He also does philanthropic work through The American Cancer Society, including advocacy, Relay for Life, and publicly speaks throughout the Southeast for the Society.
When not working or volunteering, Gary spends time with family at the lake, traveling and kayak fishing.
